Let's keep the personal insults out of it, guys.
Keep it friendly.

Lmao @ hawk drawing the line at them capitilizing Black but not white.

It's very simple.  They go with the race narrative when the shooter is white because that drives more engagement. Nobody is shocked when a young black man kills another young black man so in those cases it need not be mentioned.  But if you can find even the potential for a racial narrative than what would have been a local tragedy can potentially turn into a national conversation. And that is what the press would do with any story if they can.

i didn't mean that as an overly harsh insult lol.  She just very much has the air of a  humorless disciplinarian when she addresses OH in posts like this:

Quote from: Marie Monday on Apr 21, 2023, 12:51 AMok, you know I'm not ok with you being called a pedo, but you have no right to whine about people on MB calling you out when you make sexual jokes about underage girls. It's gross. This is what annoys me about your attitude towards MB: sure you have some grounds to complain about MB, but the way you do it is unreasonable, immature and gets in the way of acknowledging the problems with your own behaviour

As if he hasn't reformed his behavior on here more drastically than anyone else.  But if he deviates slightly and makes a (tame) off color joke,  it's time to break out the old ruler and make him repent.

Yeah it's probably not a terrible thing to say, but for all you know, Marie may have had to have gone back in time, shoot a schoolmarm to stop her growing up and eventually being the great-great-great-grandmother to Hitler or Trump or someone, and may still have terrifying flashbacks, so the word "schoolmarm" could be a trigger to her.

Or (and this is, I admit, less likely than my very plausible guess above), she just may not like it. Best to, as I say, keep it friendly.

She might always go back in time and kill your grandfather and then - hello? Hello? Anyone there?
Who was I talking to again?

That was me keeping it friendly.

What about when a black man kills a white person? As you saw from the examples in this thread they don't go with the race narrative there. Why do you think that is?

I'm glad other people have noticed it because I've genuinely seen it for years.

Only God knows.

Yeah I don't like the way I sound either, but I actually switched to this instead of a more flippant tone mostly because Hawk didn't seem to like that. Still I think you have a distorted idea of me: it's really not some kind of disciplinary urge. I just feel obliged to speak up when I think something's wrong, but I can't really pull of doing it 'not cool, dude'-style (especially after a bunch of years of this)

@Trolls I appreciate it but I'm happy to say it's a trigger-free word for me

So you're saying that wasn't you I saw toting that shotgun near the little Spanish church back in 1804, when I went back in search of the ancestor of Zuckerburg? Never found him either, as it happens...

Labour suspends Diane Abbott in attempt to stifle fresh antisemitism row

Abbott is a disgrace and has been for a long time.

QuoteAbbott's letter said that Irish, Jewish and Traveller people "undoubtedly experience prejudice", but added: "This is similar to racism and the two words are often used as if they are interchangeable."

She obviously thinks this because she's of the 'black people can't be racist/you can't be racist to white people' mindset.

Only God knows.
