QuoteUm, are you seriously saying these guys were right to beat someone up because they didn't want him there?

yes

rich white people have been stealing hawaiian land for long enough

zuckerberg is the most egregious example but absolutely 100% yes - these people have a right to their space and culture and unwanted intruders should be dealt with however they see fit

QuoteLike a white guy in Harlem getting beaten up by the residents is alright?

in the early days before it was gentrified they should've killed whites who bought up the property

same with flatbush and now with bed-stuy

QuoteOr a black guy in, I don't know, the Hamptons?

the hamptons should be returned to the Shinnecock

Okay that's cool. You're a lost cause then. No point in arguing any further. Just wanted to check.  ::)

googled an esoteric experiment? What are you on about. Anyway, I just explained to you that it's not fundamentally false, even many people without a degree in physics could tell you that, but I'm not going over it again

i think he was making the point that ye should be arrested but got himself in hot water in the process

preciate it

I think it might be an idea if members refrained from carrying arguments, debates or differences from discussions they had in Music Banter over here. It's counter-productive, and it will only result in, at some point, one or other of the parties having to copy and paste something from MB, which isn't going to be helpful. I would ask everyone here, insofar as possible, and with regard to previous issues between people, to try to start here with a clean slate and not to bring up old rivalries or issues. I just think it would be better.

Hold up though you mean you were calling election/positron pair creation an esoteric experiment I googled? Mate that is a standard undergraduate textbook physics phenomenon

I don't really agree. Fundamentally, this is the same as if we were a group of people who knew each other irl and it wouldn't work that way there either. I'm all for a clean slate when it means forgiving or burying old grudges but you can't just erase history because this forum has a different name

I think in this case, the two of you renewing an argument you had on MB - and due to which, apparently, one of you left - is somewhat pointless. If you want to reference, shall we say, bad blood spilled on MB, I personally think MB is a better place to take it up. I'm not saying you can't do it, I just don't see how it helps anything. But you're not prohibited from doing it or anything. It just seems like the two of you are opening up old wounds and the blood is spilling out here, and there will be people here who have not got a clue what you're referencing.

Quotethe two of you are opening up old wounds

i ain't bring it up plus i said "preciate it" when the offer was (falsely) made to drop it

Quote from: Trollheart on Mar 02, 2023, 06:05 PMHaven't seen this here. Bought tomatoes today and there was no shortage. Maybe it is Brexit-linked. Guess everyone is going to be eating MacDonalds then - weight will increase rather than decrease. Maybe they'll begin hunting each other through the streets of London for food. Lack of veg wouldnt' bother me anyway; veg and me, we each keep, as you so charmingly say, in our lane.

Well it's not happening anywhere else in Europe is it? So yes I'd say Brexit has something to do with it.

Only God knows.

I'm really not that bothered, as long as it doesn't escalate. But the actual analogy would be that it's like the two of you walking into a room of friends and acquaintainces, some of who you know and some of whom you don't, and starting - or rather, restarting - an argument that many people in the room don't understand. If you consider that others here may have not been on MB at the time, and maybe, if we're lucky, others from outside of MB may come here, then this will all be new to them.

But whatever. Just keep it civil I guess.

i personally don't want mb2.0 and support leaving that baggage in that terminal

if it's just going to be the same garbage why bother being "something completely different"

You'd support violence and murder. That makes me curious. What are the principles behind this moral theory or values? Are violence and murder good consequences or right consequences or both?
