In it's way it's a feel-good story about how life will always find a way, and of course it's about hippos, animals we like because they look so sweet as cuddly toys - but be careful!! IRL they are bigger and more aggressive than the ones you used to have in your nursery

More people get mauled and killed by hippos than any other large, wild mammal so they're definitely in the keep away from category of beasties. Just think how crazy dangerous they'll get when they break into Escobar's secret forest stash of cocaine.

Maybe they taste good? I wouldn't mind trying 🤔 kill'em and fry em up!

You know I've spoken to a lot of Russian Jews in Israel and it keeps surprising me how little even they know about Soviet "anti-Zionist" propaganda, which lifted pretty much all of its imagery from Nazi and earlier antisemitic propaganda, where the octopus encircling the globe was of course a constant fixture. And this amnesia about this extremely dark chapter of 20th century history (chiefly on the left where many Stalinists are still alive and kicking, and in the developing world, where it spread as the convenient cover for antisemitism that it obviously is) feeds into what we see today: the same "anti-Zionist" word salad spouted on the streets of major cities in the West by thousands of supposed bright young things who are definitely "on the right side of history".

That's a good idea, Guybrush! They look like they have a lot of nice cuts of lean meat on them. I'm thinking of keeping one in my back garden and fattening him up for Christmas.

Four men have been charged in the theft of a solid gold toilet, which was valued at roughly $1.25 million when it was stolen, the Crown Prosecution Service said Monday.

A New Jersey elementary school janitor is accused of performing sexual acts with school objects and contaminating food and cafeteria utensils with bodily fluids and bleach.

Giovanni Impellizzeri, 25, is accused of contaminating food and kitchen utensils in the Elizabeth Moore School cafeteria with saliva, urine and feces. He also sprayed bleach into a container of food that was later served to kids "with the intention of harming the students," according to an affidavit of probable cause.

I'm guessing there was also some baby batter included with all those other nasty contaminants.
