Funny you say this, I just had a conversation two days ago with someone about how they feel that native Americans squandered their reparations and the land that was given to them. He essentially reduced them to stereotypes calling them drunks and lazy. He's always advocating for all black everything and for black people to get reparations which includes obtaining land.

That's pretty fascinating and makes a lot of sense (that someone would take it to this direction, not the actual stuff he said obv)

In general, every theory that's good and just in the abstract (communism, anti-colonialism etc) becomes informed by and enmeshed with old prejudices the moment you try to put it into practice.

Yeah he can be a bit extreme. He is almost like a black supremist and he wants segregation essentially. He feels like black people don't group up together enough to support each other. Orthodox Jews do and so do latinos. As far as supporting their local businesses and keeping the dollar within their community but black people spend their dollar elsewhere.

The BBC isn't a commercial media organisation, so it's less ratings-obssessed than some others, I imagine. They don't necessarily promote the greatest celebrities among tv presenters, but they often show decades-long loyalty to certain personalities. Nature program? Where's David Attenborough. Science item? Call Brian Cox. This guy, Huw Edwards apparently won the prestigious slot in the BBC for state-occasion narrator. For years, it used to be a guy called Richard Dimbleby:-

Dimbleby's reputation was built upon his ability to describe events clearly yet with a sense of the drama and poetry of the many state occasions he covered. [coronation of QE II, funeral of JFK and Churchill, etc.] He could also improvise extensively if there were delays in the schedule. His audience always felt that they were in "safe hands", especially in Panorama programmes like the one dealing with the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Inevitably, because of his close association with establishment figures and royalty, some people criticised his "hushed tones" style of speaking at state occasions, claiming he was pompous.

I suspect Huw Edwards has similar talents and status: not so much popular with, as familiar to the viewing public.

It seems like the BBC are not so much to blame in this case as The Sun, however the BBC still reported on this knowing it was rubbish?

Seems Huw is a victim of the media here. Apparently he's in a bad way in hospital now in the midst of a mental health crisis.

I know it's not solved in a legal sense but doesn't everybody know who did it? Orlando Anderson aka 'Baby Lane' and his uncle is Keefe D who I'm guessing is who they've raided.

Anderson died in 1998 so this is never gonna be solved.
