Title: Bloody Earworms
Post by: DJChameleon on May 01, 2024, 08:06 PM
What are your current ear worms?

If you don't have any right now what are some of your past favorites?

Also does it help to listen to the actual song that is playing in your head or do you feel like it makes it worse and it is harder to get it out of your head?

Yes, having a song stuck in my head makes me want to listen to it.

I feel like it stops the urge once you finally listen to it and hear it in it's entirety.

My current ear worm is Camila Cabello's I luv It. Already posted about it in the what you listening to thread.

The husband was listening to this yesterday on some mix playlist and it was in my head for like five hours earlier today.

This is my current one. I feel like I randomly heard it in a commercial recently and now I have to listen to the entire song.

Yeah this has been all over top 40 radio here, and it's definitely gotten in my head too.

A good earworm never dies, but is always ready to infect a new user, amirite?

This one comes courtesy of songwriters Bacharach/David, and a little girl who, years ago, was on the bus seat in front of me. She was small enough to be standing on the seat rather than sitting, so I got the full benefit of her limited repertoir: she clearly loved this song, but only knew the opening line, which she sang on a repetitive loop for so long that it worked its way from her head to mine, and now it's waiting to get into your head too:-

Here are the words you'll need:-

What do you get when you fall in love?....What do you get when you fall in love?....What do you get when you fall in love?....What do you get when you fall in love?

My latest earwig I've already posted someplace else, but here it is again:

I can feel myself slowly coming off it, though 😄 I hope I can find a good replacement.

For me it's Donald Fagen's classic track IGY 😄

I read somewhere that the album (The Nightly) was so well made that people back in the day had used it to calibrate stereos and other equip. Since I love that song and know every inch of it, I started doing it too.

F.ex. I know how much bass it should have (roughly a touch less than you'd really prefer) and so I can use that to quickly dial in the right level on my sub.

The commercial that used to sell those compilation cds in the 90s made this song just randomly pop into my head.

Similar to Sarah Mclaughlin in the arms of an angel.

Was it this one, by any chance? Definitely one of those commercials that was burned into my brain.

Lol I need to put together a pure moods playlist. I feel like I would appreciate this more as an adult as opposed to when I heard it

This is my favorite "Mood". And I'd even consider it to be an earworm after a few listens.
