Q. Of the now eight recognised planets in our solar system, how many do NOT have moons?
0?
2 but i cheated - thought one, mercury but neither does venus
are we not supposed to cheat? (i guess that's my question)
I think cheating is OK if the thread has a two day lull in posts.

then what's your question
I got it wrong so I don't have one.
You need to ask the question.

Who was the first gay English king?
Quote from: jimmy jazz on Mar 10, 2023, 08:55 PMWho was the first gay English king?
Marie Antoinette
Of course you can cheat, but then, what's the point?
As to JJ's question: unless it's Paul King, maybe Edward VII? This is without looking it up. No I will not Wiki. Get that mouse AWAY from me...

Computer mouse duh.
JJ is this a serious question or a joke? I'm doing the History of England and I have yet to come across a king who identified as gay (though I guess all kings are gay, as monarchy is gay)
:shycouch:
No it's serious.
The answer is William II, also known as William Rufus.

since you answered your own question you jave to ask the next one
Didn't know that. He the one married to Mary? William I was the guy with the conkers wasn't he? William III was the lad with the oranges, William IV is still at school...
wtf are conkers?

He never married. Willy number 2 was ginger and the son of William the Conqueror.
QuoteWilly number 2
was the first one freed?

I think this thread has a lot of potential for interestand fun.
What I like so far is how, in our hands, a simple fool-proof rule immediately turns into chaos and confusion, with questions unasked or asked out of turn.
Quote from: Dreams on Mar 10, 2023, 10:57 PMwtf are conkers?
Also known as horse chestnuts. You drill a hole in them, put string through and hit them off each other. Mates battled each other; whosever conker broke the other won. Ah, simple times!
(Also, as you probably guessed, I was making a word play on William the Conqueror).
QuoteWilliam the Conqueror
didn't have a clue
He conquered a lot.
And he was named William.

Oh, you mean William the Conkers.
I think he preferred to be called William the Horse Chestnut I, actually.
i propose a rule that if the person that supposed ask the next question fails to within 24 hours i get to ask the next question
I think, with a slight amendment, that is acceptable, but the rule can be if the person who either got the question right, or the person who originally set the question, if nobody gets it right, doesn't set a new one, then anyone can. Let's set a 24-hour limit. So...
Question setter: if the question you set is not answered within 24 hours, please give the answer. You may then choose either to set another question or let someone else do so.
Question answerer: if you got the question right, and it's confirmed to be right, please set your question within 24 hours of getting it right, otherwise anyone else can take the shot.
Clear enough?
Quotethen anyone can
but that allows others who arent me to do it
let's try to be fair about this
Perhaps we can create a whole thread where only you can ask the questions and only you can answer them. Sound fair enough to you?

as long as i get that thread and this thread
but still there's the problem that other people might want a thread too and we have to be realistic about things here
You're right. Never thought of that. Hmm. What about your own forum where only you can post? Would that sort it out?
Quote from: Trollheart on Mar 11, 2023, 08:02 PMYou're right. Never thought of that. Hmm. What about your own forum where only you can post? Would that sort it out?
only if it included this forum as well and all other forums
fair is fair
i mean if others are having a say obviously that's cutting into my time which is obviously ridiculous
How about your own independent internet?

let's just start with this thread
as we say in Ireland, enough of this bollocks. Let's get things moving again.
What single, seven-letter word can successfully follow all three of these?
Computer
Hall
Heart

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?
Alternatively, what is my first name?
Wow that was quick!
Your question is unreservedly and intentionally racist, as Tootsie rolls are not sold outside of the USA. Boo.
Also, surely it depends on the length of your tongue? For Gene Simmons, the answer would be one.
And Mrs. Waffles. Or Alexandra.
And please set questions people have a chance of being able to answer.
What is the meaning of life, the universe and quite a few other things too?
I realized this and edited the post. ;)
Edit: Correct, it's Mrs. Waffles! Apologies about the difficulty of my questions, I'm just in a spicy mood and wanted to give you all a hard time.
While we're at it, what do you call a lasso that has a great sense of rhyme and rhythm?
