Guys what about bald cats? Are you a fan?

I absolutely love them. I know someone with a sister who just got one, and it is so fucking cute 😭

I want to touch one. Have you ever touched one?

Only God knows.

I was walking down the street one night and as I walked past a window I saw this crazy alien shape moving in my peripheral vision. There was a split second of my brain struggling to comprehend what I was seeing, then I realized it was the back of a hairless cat. It seriously was the most horrifying thing imaginable in that moment. That said, do love cats, so I guess I'd like the hairless ones too.

This is what you want. This is what you get.

all cats deserve love but I really prefer the hairy ones

Imagine spending $20k to become a dog and end up like this.

20k well spent imo 8)

Only God knows.

And isn't man the strangest animal of all.

So it seems paleontologists have uncovered an animal that was, on average, larger than the blue whale. This makes it the currently largest known animal.

It's a whale ancestor and the art is very speculative as they only have bones from the middle sections of the animal so far. The rest of the animal is an educated guess.

Still very cool news 🙂

Quote from: jimmy jazz on Apr 19, 2023, 12:16 AMSpotted tonight when I went into the garden shed. The previous night I had heard rustling and I believed it was a rat. Sprinted back to the house in fear.

I have been pleasantly surprised. Just as I walked to the steps it's right there in front of me, arm's distance away. He was very chilled out and allowed me to take a photo before walking away.

His name is Herbie.

Herbie has been here again recently twice. I've changed his name to Arnold because he is huge and I'm sure he's been lifting weights. Couldn't get pics cos he ran off, when they sprint you can see their little feet flapping about it's so funny 😂

Gonna set the wildlife cam up next to the hedgehog house so I can watch what goes in and hopefully if I'm very, very lucky I could see some hoglets.

Only God knows.

Just seen a fox go past my house, back down and then back up again, walk up my drive, see me stood there and then ran off 😂

I love foxes BTW.

Trolls posted a thread once asking what we like and dislike about where we live and I should have said our range of wildlife. Nearly all of it is harmless and adorable.

Unfortunately these are really shy and run off but if they were not as scared I'd definitely feed them chicken wings.

Only God knows.

We have red foxes here too, but they seem more common in England.

When I was living on Svalbard, there was sometimes polar foxes around. They haven't had a lot of evolutionary time to adapt to human presence, so they're not too scared.

Once when we were out camping and doing fieldwork for a week, one came up to me when I was taking a pee. It kept a distance of maybe 2 metres or so. It was weird, but very cool. I guess they get bored up there 😄

A polar bear gets shot on average maybe once a year on Svalbard. These are bears that have a behavior that makes them a particular risk to people. The meat sometimes ends up at the local restaurants.

I'd love to try black bear, but the polar bears' meat is so high in various pollutants/heavy metals, I'd worry about it being very unhealthy.
