Not everyone is, I'm sure, into them, but I am. I've made no secret of my love for The Onedin Line, and I'm currently watching Poldark, for the first time, even if it is a new version. Quite enjoying it. If you're into these sort of programmes maybe post about them. No documentaries please, or docu-drama.

I'm surprised no-one has added to this thread, Trollheart: perhaps your long list was too daunting!

I've enjoyed many period dramas on TV, ever since, as a family, we would sit down at 7:25 on Sunday evenings to watch the BBC's 26-part adaptation of The Forsyte Saga:-

...on Sunday evenings on BBC1 starting on 8 September 1968 that secured the programme's success, with 18 million tuning in for the final episode in 1969. It was shown in the United States on public television and broadcast all over the world, and became the first British television programme to be sold to the Soviet Union.[4]

I recognise several titles from your list, and I especially liked Downton Abbey and The Tudors. And here's another adaptation; made in six parts in 1995, it's well worth watching imo:
